Fibromyalgia is a fairly common condition, affecting about 8% of the United States population. There is a hereditary component to the disease and it can run in families. Very little is known about fibromyalgia other than it is a chronic, centralized pain sensitivity, which can result in diffused joint and muscle pain in the absence of inflammation. If you have questions about Fibromyalgia - speak to one of our Sarasota or Orlando area pain management physicians.
